Matthew is married to friend and fellow teacher, Elysha, and they have two children, Clara and Charlie. He grew up in the small town of Blackstone, Massachusetts, where he made a name for himself by dying twice before the age of eighteen and becoming the first student in his high school to be suspended for inciting riot upon himself.

With 20+ years in digital marketing, sales, and branding, I know how to turn stories into impact.  As lifelong marketer, strategist, and builder of all things digital, I brings two decades of expertise to the heart of Storyworthy. Working with everyone from small businesses to Corporate empires like Sony and Disney. Over the years, I’ve helped over a thousand clients grow their businesses, launch new products, and transform how the world sees them.

One of my favorite examples? Arbo Engineering. They’d been trying for over a decade to connect with Kellogg’s Cereal. After we reimagined their digital story and built a brand image that matched the quality of their product, they landed a meeting within a month, and soon after, the biggest contract in their history.

Starting Young & Learning Fast

I launched my first business at 18 with my brother, thinking it would be easy. I was wrong. We had ten employees, all older than me, and I had to learn everything: accounting, management, and constant skill refinement. Through persistence and adaptability, we became one of the top 10 consultants in a global network of over 2,000. That experience taught me the power of resilience, problem-solving, and storytelling.

My Storytelling Roots

Storytelling has been in my life for as long as I can remember. I was a child model in ads, toy commercials, and even on the 60th anniversary Rice Krispies box. Around family tables, I was always the expressive, animated one — inspired by Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, and Will Smith. But stepping onto a professional storytelling stage?

That was intimidating…

Until the day I met Matthew Dicks.

I listened to Matty the Dogg (which made me cry) and then Big Man Big Truck — a story about a certain big, redheaded jerk. Sitting there with my own big, red head, I thought, “Uh-oh… this guy’s going to have some pre-judgments about me.”

Instead, Matt turned out to be one of the most authentic, accepting and thoughtful person I’d met in a long time. From that first conversation, I knew we had a story worth telling — and a mission worth building. I remember thinking, “This is the start of something big.”

I’m the youngest of four redheaded boys, which means I grew up with three older brothers, and all the mischief, rivalry, and life lessons that come with it.

I’ve trained and competed in Muay Thai in Thailand (and yes, I once broke a rib doing it), rescued more cats than I can count (my current pair are Ninja and Sami), and and I’ve spent years behind a drum kit, learning that rhythm isn’t just for music. It’s for life, business, and storytelling too.

When my mom passed away, I found her poetry — beautiful, uplifting words that never reached the world. That moment changed me. I decided I’d never keep my own words inside again. Yes, it’s vulnerable and risky, but the connection you make when you tell the right story can be life-changing for someone.

As a coach, marketing consultant, and apprentice storyteller, I help people uncover their unique voice, craft stories that connect, and share them in ways that make an impact. Because stories aren’t just entertainment — they’re how we change the world
